Flashback to last spring in Jindy. What a beautiful place it is even when it's not snow season. We managed to catch the sun setting over the hills just after a severe storm, the most eerily beautiful thing i have ever seen which provided the perfect backdrop.

Nastygal.com blouse | Princess Polly skirt | Therapy shoes | Staple the label clutch

This has got to be one of the best clutches hands down. Buttery soft leather made to replicate a brown paper bag and big enough to fit all the essentials. An absolute staple in my closet from Staple the Label - how apt!

The weekend was super windy hence the wind tossed hair and lack of sunshine. Is it really Monday already? Wishing everyone a great start to the week  x

P.S. how great are the notches on this skirt!

Pink Scallops

Please excuse the super long hiatus but i finally feel the passion to start writing again. Hope you didnt miss me too much.

Today's look is super casual, hot pink shorts and a loose tank paired back with a rucksack. These are just about my favourite pair of shorts at the moment, you can never go wrong with a scallop hem and pop colour. Beachside frolicking means easy dressing, this get-up is also practical enough for sandboarding (fear of heights not included). Shot on location at Stockton Bight NSW.

Picturesque

So I am a little bit of an art geek. You know the type that people think are crazy and will splash paint across a canvas (though i do believe that has ceased to happen since kindergarten). Traditional art has always been my soft spot (think Renoir, Monet and the impressionist posse) thus you can find me lurking around art galleries like the crack addicts do in kings cross. But on a more contemporary scale, one of my great loves is fashion illustration whether it be realistic, conceptual or abstract. Last week I spent literally a whole day in the fashion section of Kinokuniya, if it hadn't been for the closing announcements I would have soundly disappeared between '1000 Contemporary Designers' and 'The autobiography of Christian Dior'.

I thought I might share the works of these great fashion artists I discovered whilst doing research work. I recently bought a fantastic fashion illustration book 'Nine Heads Media: Colours for Modern Fashion' - Nancy Riegelman. It is extremely thorough and covers techniques, mediums and inspirational artworks complete with exercises. I suggest for anyone intending to improve their illustration skills to purchase this.

These few artworks by Psillos are fantastic. I love the way he uses colours and patterns. Third artwork I find very intriguing as he has painted half the man in muted tones obscured in shadow, yet he still manages to bring out the highlights in this area. The colour contrast is superb, almost like he placed a photoshop filter, and the shadow slices the man so sharply that I wonder how he achieved this, perhaps painted with a piece of paper covering the left side?

Hollywood infected your brain

Just a few pictures I am loving right now. photographs always inspire me especially when they attempt to tell a story of some sort. If they are exceptionally engaging and I stare long enough, I end up making my own little story about it. Also, on the topic of photographs.. new purchase coming very very soon, im tres excited about my new toy kachaaa :)
